At 270 Park Avenue, the new global headquarters for JPMorgan Chase in Midtown Manhattan, scale and performance are engineered at the building’s foundation and throughout its structure. Designed by Foster + Partners and built by AECOM Tishman, the 60-story, 1,388-foot tower delivers 2.5 million square feet of workspace for 10,000 employees and stands as New York City’s largest all-electric skyscraper, targeting LEED Platinum v4.
Its elevated fan-column structure, lifting the building roughly 80 feet above grade to span active rail infrastructure, demands joint performance across the full building envelope.
Sika Emseal expansion joint systems were specified throughout multiple building assemblies. DSM System maintains continuity at watertight horizontal joints. QuietJoint addresses acoustic partition closures. Emshield DFR2, WFR2, and SSW2 provide 2-hour fire-rated protection at floor and wall conditions, including security-rated applications in high-security areas.
From watertight deck joints to fire-rated and security-rated wall conditions, Sika Emseal systems address the full range of high-rise expansion joint system requirements across a structure of this scale and complexity.
