(DUS) Düsseldorf International Airport, Düsseldorf
Germany
Date: 1998, 2001
Airport expansion joints part of terminal reconstruction. After a deadly fire at Düsseldorf International Airport rendered Terminal B unusable, it was rebuilt in 2001 with intense scrutiny on material choices. Durability and safety were the primary selection criteria.
Migutrans FS 75 and FS 110 were used throughout the rebuild of Terminal B and the refurbishment of Terminal A. Fifteen years later, the originally installed materials continue to deliver. It is this type of durability that far exceeds any up-front savings derived by specifying lower-cost, lower-quality systems that are not up the task.
