MST and AST solve sealing problems where others don't.
RVS precompressed, self-expanding foam sealant fills corrugations and seals window, door, vent, and hatch penetrations.
AST (asphaltic) and MST (100% acrylic) precompressed, self-expanding sealant tapes are a durable alternative to spray foam and lightweight closed cell foam gaskets for numerous DIY applications. AST and MST are available from the following retail partners:
MST self-expanding, precompressed window and door sealant tape comes is numerous sizes. Both the thickness of the tape and the width can be chosen. Thickness is chosen based on rough opening. Width is chosen based on the desired level of sealing. The wider the tape the better the insulation
Window and door perimeters are wrapped in a continuous piece. The final join is made with an overlap.
Properly sealed window and door perimeters are a critical part of a tight building envelope. Emseal precompressed foam selant tapes are a mess-free, durable alternative to spray foam for insulating window and door perimeters.
At each corner the MST sealant tape is folded and crimped. This makes an extra body of material to seal corners of the rough openings.
After making the turn back to the starting side of the window, the MST sealant tape is rolled out to just overlap the starting piece.
A utility knife is used to trim the MST Tape leaving it just overlapping the start. The overlap join is compressed firmly to make and flatten the join.
Installation continues in an uninterrupted run. Corners are crimped along the way.
