RVS precompressed sealant tape conforms to corrugated coach sides. It only compresses into itself. The sides of the tape stay flat even when installed under compression from fasteners.
Window and door perimeters are wrapped in a continuous piece. The final join is made with an overlap.
Properly sealed window and door perimeters are a critical part of a tight building envelope. Emseal precompressed foam selant tapes are a mess-free, durable alternative to spray foam for insulating window and door perimeters.
At each corner the MST sealant tape is folded and crimped. This makes an extra body of material to seal corners of the rough openings.
After making the turn back to the starting side of the window, the MST sealant tape is rolled out to just overlap the starting piece.
A utility knife is used to trim the MST Tape leaving it just overlapping the start. The overlap join is compressed firmly to make and flatten the join.
Installation continues in an uninterrupted run. Corners are crimped along the way.
At the corners, the MST is gathered up and crimped together. This leaves a fold of material protruding beyond the frame. This extra material will expand into the corners of the rough opening.
After cutting on the starter strip and peeling away the release liner, installation of MST on window and door frames begins on any side near the middle of the frame. The pressure sensitive adhesive backing holds the tape in place as it is unrolled.
Applying pressure to the tape ensures it bonds to the frame. Care is taken not to stretch the material while unrolling it.
