KickOut Terminations

Factory-fabricated flashing termination

Kickout Terminations are installed to extend beyond the edge of a bridge deck. They help to direct water run-off beyond the piers below.

Kickout Termination are available as part of a termination piece designed to run off the edge of a slab, or as a flared end on a termination that runs down a parapet wall.

Kickout Terminations are installed and joined to straight lengths of the BEJS System using the same methods as joining straight runs of BEJS material.

The Problem: Salt-laden water that runs off the end of a bridge deck, or leaks through the joint, lands on and deteriorates the piers and columns. Anything that can be done, by shortening the piers or directing the liquid away from the deck will contribute to the longevity of the structure.
A Kickout Termination extends beyond the edge of the bridge deck and helps to direct water run off beyond the piers below.
