Note: BACKERSEAL can be made for joints up to 12", however, it is typical to use COLORSEAL or SEISMIC COLORSEAL in joints greater than 1 1/4".

 Provides true "belt-and-suspenders" redundancy.  With BACKERSEAL behind field-applied liquid sealant you have two systems both providing watertightness but using different principles of performance.

Unlike with "double caulk and backer rod" this means that installation actions and forces likely to cause one system to fail are not likely to cause the secondary system to fail.

Continuity of Seal:  Making expansion joints watertight in cross-section is easy.  Where joints will leak is at transitions in plane and direction as well as at transitions between dissimilar joint seals.

EMSEAL provides axonometric details for treatment of both transitions within and between its systems.  Detailed and installed in accordance with these details, EMSEAL warrants its joint systems to be watertight at all transitions.
